S&P has created a Blood Bank Validation service for all Cerner clients that have the Transfusion and Donor modules. S&P has successfully validated Cerner Blood Bank systems without any issues. Our goal is to test all parts of the module, verify and validate each section, and document all tasks and results. By combining these three steps, the end result is a testing document that is clear and concise, so that all regulatory agencies can quickly review all testing performed.
Project Management services are provided and will be responsible for managing the Cerner, Client, and S&P resources for the Blood Bank Validation testing. Once Cerner has installed the code required, in the MOCK environment, S&P will perform an application level testing to verify the module functionality. Once all issues are resolved and re-tested, it will be moved into production. S&P will then perform the full validation testing for all regulatory agencies. S&P advises an initial on-site visit be performed to outline custom workflows. This information will then be compiled into a document that will be incorporated into the test plan. This is to make sure that all workflow issues are tested
S&P will work with each client to create a testing strategy that will satisfy the testing requirements and reduce any adverse effects that the testing may have on production. This is for testing and validating the Blood Bank module only. The validation testing consists of validating that all interpretations trigger correctly, and verifying that interpretations do not trigger unless programmed to do so. This is a major aspect that Regulatory agencies look for.
