In Memoriam – 1960-2020
Steve Pratt (1960-2020) co-founded S&P Consultants in 1996 with Andy Splitz. He was both a technological/programming wizard and a true “people person,” leading complex systems design and data conversion projects as the company grew from a two-man vision to a 70-person industry leader. As COO of the company, his sincerity, business ethics, no-nonsense communication style, and genuine human decency informed the “core values” that define S&P to this day.
A lifelong athlete, Boston sports fanatic, and champion of youth sports, Steve, was an All-American golfer in high school, captained the Braintree High School golf team to an undefeated 14-0 season and continued playing at an elite level his whole life. He was a lifelong basketball player and referee, a longtime coach and board member of Braintree Little League and Babe Ruth. He cherished his family, including his wife of 36 years Nancy (Ryan), sons Stephen, Kevin, and Colin, his daughter-in-law Jamie, and granddaughters Madelyn and Charlotte. He was a proud graduate of Boston College.
Clients, colleagues, and friends remember Steve (“Pratty’s”) fun-loving “rebel” nature as exemplified by his having attended more than 100 Bruce Springsteen concerts. His untimely passing has inspired clients, friends and colleagues to share memories and condolences—so we have established a monitored email account for people to share these with the S&P Team and Steve’s family.
Taken too soon, Steve’s dedication, humanity, and passion shine as enduring inspiration to all who knew him. We deeply honor his memory and irreplaceable contributions to our organization.
